Role Summary
Seeking a Senior Scientist to advance our research in Drug Metabolism/Pharmacokinetics (DM/PK). This key position will drive in vivo evaluations of therapeutic candidates, focusing on pharmacokinetics, metabolism, and bioavailability of novel compounds. The role requires a strong DM/PK background, extensive in vivo testing experience, and the ability to design studies and influence drug discovery strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Independently design and conduct in vivo pharmacokinetic studies to assess drug candidates' metabolism and bioavailability using various animal models, with an emphasis on mouse models for cancer therapeutics.
- Develop experimental protocols and oversee the IACUC review/approval process.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including chemists and biologists, to integrate DM/PK data across the drug discovery and development stages.
- Manage and mentor laboratory technicians, guiding experimental techniques and ensuring smooth lab operations.
Qualifications
- Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmacokinetics, Drug Metabolism, Pharmacology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- M.S. with 10+ years of relevant postdoctoral DM/PK experience or Ph.D. with 5+ years; industry experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience in in vivo pharmacokinetics, including study design, execution, and data analysis.
- Skilled in in vivo procedures, such as administering test molecules to mice, tissue collection and processing, and histology techniques, including H&E staining.
- Proficient in data analysis tools like WinNonlin, Phoenix, or similar PK/PD modeling software.
- Demonstrated scientific contributions, including peer-reviewed publications.
Core Competencies
- Problem-solving ability with a hands-on approach in a laboratory setting.
- Strong team collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in presenting complex data to various stakeholders.
